Your Eyes Like Sparks, My Heart's Like Gasoline
I got Paul Westerburg's Stereo/Mono release when it came out back in 2002. We used to play it in the record store, alot. It was good, but never really made it into my own "constant rotation." Maybe it was just a case of over-exposure.
I watched "Adventureland" a couple of weeks ago and I got the urge to dig it back out. Man, what a great album. If you've never heard it, track it down and check it out. When it came out, it was bundled with a record from Westerburg's more rock & roll alter ego Grandpa Boy. If you can find it, grab it.
Grandpa Boy:
Eyes Like Sparks
High Time
AAA
Paul Westerburg:
Mr. Rabbit
Let The Bad Times Roll
And here's Paul and rest of the Replacement boys back in 1986, earning their lifetime ban from Saturday Night Live with a visceral performance of "Bastards of Young" followed by "Kiss Me On The Bus."
